Masonry, adobe, dynamic analysis, reinforcement
Peru, Spain

Biography

During my PhD in Structural Engineering and Engineering Seismology, I was pioneered numerical modeling of earthen dwellings, previously experimentally tested in Peru, contributing to the state-of-the-art vulnerability assessment of vernacular and historical masonry constructions. Also, I have studied the behaviour of stone walls with an irregular pattern, ending with a methodology for computing its lateral capacity. My main work concerns the non-linear dynamic analysis of structures (earthen, masonry), finite element modelling, seismic design of masonry structures, and seismic vulnerability.
