Biography

Professor Cuneyt Yenigun is a Full Professor of International Relations/Political Science, Director of the International Relations and Security Studies Graduate Programs, and Founder Head of the Political Science Department at Sultan Qaboos University. In his long academic experience, he worked at Florida State University (US), Istanbul Kultur University (Turkey), American University in the Emirates (Dubai), and Sakarya University and also taught in some universities as international faculty under the European Union Socrates Program such as in Malmo University, International Balkan University, and Barcelona Autonomous University. He served as a member and chair of the founder committee of seven departments, three postgraduate schools, and a university. He has been awarded “Best Social Scientist”, “Best Speaker”, “Best Teacher” (eight times), and “Best Supervisor” in his 30 years of academic life. He has organized tens of international conferences and eighty seminars in academia. He served as a Scientific Committee chair or member in more than a hundred international conferences. He supervised more than eighty Master’s and Ph.D. theses in seven countries. Professor Yenigun is a member of the editorial board of thirteen indexed/refereed journals. He is the author of five books, several articles in Web of Science and Scopus-indexed journals, and chapters in books. His teaching and research areas intensify on International Relations, International Conflict Resolution, Security Studies, and Middle East Studies.
