Biography
Fatih Terzi is a Professor of Urban Planning in the department of Urban and Regional Planning at Istanbul Technical University. He received his PhD degree in Urban and Regional Planning Program at Istanbul Technical University in 2010. He participated in teaching and related academic activities in Department of Landscape Architecture at Clemson University, South Carolina, USA as a visiting research scholar. He also paid a visit to Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis (CASA) at University College London, as an Academic Affiliate. Areas of interest include urban spatial development, GIS (Geographic Information System) implementations in urban planning, planning support systems, and urban modeling. Recently, he has involved in an URBAN-NET project entitled ‘Integrating Ecosystem Services in Urban Planning’ which has been carried out in partnership of Sweden, The Netherlands and Turkey funded by the European Commission’s Framework 6 Program under the European Research Area Network (ERA-NET) initiative. He also worked with an international research projects called 'the attractiveness of European cities and regions (ATTREG)' supported by ESPON 2013 Research Programme (the European Observation Network for Territorial Development and Cohesion).
