Biography

He is an expert in Machine Vision and Robotics. For a decade starting from 2008, he contributed to the practical application of 3D sensors for robots and the automation of various tasks using robot systems in Mitsubishi Electric Corporation. In 2018, he transferred to AIST, Japan's largest national research institution, where he leads teams driving research in robotics and industrial applications. His achievements include over 40 awards for robot research and development, more than 60 peer-reviewed journals and proceedings, and over 40 patents in Japan, the United States and other countries. He has received prestigious accolades such as the R&D 100 Awards and the Robot Award organized by Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry for the practical application of robot vision.
