Biography
Sven Bengtsson received his Master of Science in Engineering Metals from Chalmers University of Technology in 1985, followed by a PhD in Material Science in 1992 at the same University. After graduating he started as a manager of the metallography section at the Hot Cell Laboratory at Studsvik Nuclear AB. In 1997 he joined Höganäs first in a role as project leader of R&D projects and later in several positions as manager of application or alloy development sections. Focus has shifted from press and sinter materials to surface coating and since 2015 to additive manufacturing. In 2011 he was appointed Adjunct professor (part time) in powder metallurgy at Chalmers University of Technology where he is now part of the recently started Centre for Additive Manufacturing.
