Biography
My doctoral research in Language and Literacy Education at the University of British Columbia employs comics-based research methods to explore the craft of graphic memoir as a primary way of understanding and examining young people’s speculations about the future. Enriched through interdisciplinary scholarship reaching across the fields of literature, education, media, and the fine arts my work integrates theories of youth empowerment and speculative design within the creation of graphic narratives set in distant and not-so-distant future worlds.
