Biography
I have more than 10 years of experience in different fields of materials science, applications of hydrogen and energy technology, and capture-conversion CO2, demonstrated by my scientific contributions (h-index: 25 / citations>1800): 2 theses written (specialization and Ph.D.) [https://zenodo.org/record/3987050, https://zenodo.org/record/3987712], more than 60 peer-reviewed publications in renowned journal ranked in the first (Q1), second (Q2) ad third quartal (Q3) of impact factor (69 % of all papers in Q1), 4 granted patents, 1 technology transfer, 2 chapters in books and more than 40 participations in congresses [Scopus ID: 23470895900, Webofscience ID: AAV-8383-2020]. My background covers the development of functional materials mainly based on hydrides and the application of such materials in scaled-up systems. My contributions to this field are reflected in the improvements of such materials, the development of novel concepts for the desired application, the design of hydride-based integrated renewable energy systems, and moreover the development of devices to characterize relevant features of hydride-forming materials, such as the storage capacity and the effective thermal conductivity. I have been in contact for over 10 years with teaching activities in various positions, including teaching assistant and lecturer positions in Argentina and Germany. I have been involved in lectures on materials science and energy applications. I currently participate in and teach two lectures for Master's programs at the Helmut-Schmidt University in Hamburg (HSU). I have supervised and co-supervised internships of undergraduate students (Nº of 9), bachelor thesis (Nº of 1), master thesis (Nº of 6), doctoral thesis (since 06/2021 and currently, Nº of 7), and 1 post-doc in Argentina, Spain, and Germany [https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.14690268]. I have experience as a responsible researcher and collaborator in projects since developing my doctoral thesis. I was the principal investigator in 4 projects successfully evaluated in the Argentinean research system and the frame of the European Union. I also contributed to the revision process for renowned peer-reviewed journals, participated as a guest editor two times, and evaluated projects for different research institutions and universities (LE STUDIUM France/LCER CO Singapore/ANPCyT Argentina). I pursued my Ph.D. in engineering sciences from 2007 to 2012 through grants from CONICET and DAAD and the Argentinean Ministry of Education (ALEARG) scholarships. I defended my PhD thesis on the 14th of March 2012 about hydride-forming materials for hydrogen storage at the Balseiro Institute-University of Cuyo, Argentina, obtaining an outstanding grade. After my PhD, I have been in 8 different post-doctoral positions in research centers in Argentina, Spain, and Germany, obtained through competitive evaluation processes in the frame of agencies and institutions providing different programs: CONICET, Alexander von Humboldt (AvH), and EU-Marie Skłodowska-Curie-ACCIÓ program. I obtained two post-doctoral fellowships of renown and excellence. The AvH fellowship in the modality of applied research (Georg Forster) was from 01/02/2017 to 30/04/2019, and in the development of hydrogen storage tanks based on the hybrid gas-solid concept at the Institute for Materials Research, Helmholtz-Zentrum Geesthacht, Germany, from which 3 patents were granted. The Marie Skłodowska-Curie contract under the ACCIÓ-TECNIOspring PLUS was a post-doctoral stay from 01/05/2019 to 31/05/2021 on the topic of 3D printing for green chemistry. There, a 3D-printed catalytic reactor was designed and successfully tested [https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.5770560, https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.14690954]. Since 06/2021, I have been the head of the laboratory in the Dept. of Applied Materials Engineering at HSU Hamburg and, from 10.2023, deputy head of the Dept. of System Design for Mobile and Stationary Hydrogen-Energy Applications in Helmholtz-Zentrum HEREON.
