Biography
Prof. Laijun Chen received the B.S. degree and Ph. D degree in 2006 and 2011 from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, respectively, both in Electrical Engineering. He joined the Department of Electrical Engineering, Tsinghua University as an Assistant Professor in 2011, and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2014. During 2016-2017, he was a Visiting Scholar at the Advanced Power Grid Modeling, Energy Systems Division, Argonne National Laboratory, Chicago, IL, USA. His research interests include renewable power generation, integrated energy system and energy storage system.
Pro. Chen is a member of the IEEE PES, the Chinese Society of Electrical Engineering (CSEE) and the Panel of Experts in Energy Storage of China Renewable Energy Society (CRES). He was a guest editor of Special Issue on Multi-carrier Energy Storage for the journal of IET Renewable Power Generation. Prof. Chen has published nearly 150 peer-reviewed journal and conference papers and co-authored two books. He is an editor of several academic journals, including CSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems and SCIENCE CHINA Technological Sciences. He also served as the Session Chair of several international conferences.
Prof. Chen has led more than 30 academic and industrial projects, including two projects sponsored by the Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC). He is supported by the top Talents innovation program funded by Qinghai Province. He was awarded the 1st prize of science and technology award of Qinghai province, the 1st prize of science and technology award of State Grid Corporation of China in 2018 and 2019, respectively.
