Biography

Dr. Danko Bakarčić is a Professor of Pediatric dentistry. He is specialist in pediatric dentistry, and Senior Research Consultant, at Department of Pediatric Dentistry of Faculty of Dental Medicine, University of Rijeka, Rijeka, Croatia. He participates in teaching courses: Preventive Dentistry, Orofacial Genetics, Pediatric Dentistry, Introduction to Dentistry, etc.
He also worked as a course leader of Preventive Dental Medicine at the Study of Dental Medicine, Faculty of Medicine in Split, Croatia
Since 2005, he has been employed at the Department of Pedodontics and Persons with Special Care Needs at Dental Polyclinic of Faculty of Medicine from University of Rijeka, where until 2007 he also held the position of director. Since 2007, he has been employed in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry of Clinical Hospital Center Rijeka, where he also holds the position of head of the department.
He holds a Master’s degree and a PhD from the University of Rijeka, Croatia in Pediatric dentistry in the field of dental care for children with developmental disabilities. His PhD thesis investigated chewing efficiency in children with cerebral palsy.
He is the author and co-author of numerous professional and scientific papers. He actively participates in international and domestic congresses.
