Biography
I am a group leader at the MRC London Institute of Medical Sciences. My program of research aims to establish novel bioanalytical methods using mass spectrometry for translational applications within clinical endocrinology. Current research activity has focused on the analysis of vitamin D metabolism and novel approaches to define optimum and sufficient levels across population groups, and the impact of vitamin D and its supplementation on health outcomes. Additionally, Other research interests include investigating the role of steroid metabolomics in health, including as diagnostic tools for screening adrenal incidentaloma, as well as mass spectrometry applications for anabolic steroid detection in sports doping tests.
Alongside these research interests I have been involved in professional bodies and working groups across subject fields. I received Chartered Chemist (CChem) status and membership to the Royal Society of Chemistry, and recently accepted onto the Society and Endocrinology Leadership & Development Award Program, providing funding and unique opportunities across endocrinology to develop my professional profile and career development.
