Biography

Mahmoud Abbasi is a Marie Curie Research Fellow and PhD candidate in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence at the University of Salamanca, Spain. His research focuses on machine learning models, blockchain applications for secure communications, and network monitoring using machine learning.
His PhD thesis, "Blockchain Applications in the IoTalentum Infrastructure," aims to enhance trusted IoT communications by optimizing proof-of-work mechanisms. Mahmoud has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals such as IEEE Transactions and Elsevier's Internet of Things, covering IoT traffic classification, blockchain data trading, and consensus mechanisms.
He has also conducted research secondments across Europe, contributing to energy market analysis and blockchain applications. An active IEEE member and scientific reviewer, Mahmoud is proficient in Python, Solidity, and machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch.
