Biography

As a political scientist, leading researcher and team lead at Demos Helsinki, I develop our research operations and conduct research on e.g. on social contracts, the societal impacts and governance of emerging technologies, democracy and conceptual history. My current research interests include the EU digital policy, the relationship between democracy and AI, and the democratic governance of disruptive technologies. I'm a WP leader of the HEU funded KT4D project (2023-26) and Task lead for the HEU funded CommuniCity project (2022-25), and active in networking with European partners for research collaboration within the HEU framework, as well as in fostering and building new connections with European academic networks. After having completed my PhD and Post Doc projects on citizenship, concptual history and temporality at the University of Jyväskylä, I have worked extensively in policy - and stakeholder interaction oriented projects funded especially by the Government’s analysis, assessment and research activities in Finland (see Selected projects) and the Strategic Research Council by the Academy of Finland.
