Biography

Mr. Tadesse Asmamaw Dejenie is an assistant professor of medical biochemistry at the University of Gondar, Gondar, Ethiopia. He received his MSc degree in Medical Biochemistry from Addis Ababa University, College of Health Sciences, Department of Medical Biochemistry, in 2019GC. In 2016, he received his BSc in Public Health from the University of Gondar, Ethiopia. Currently, he is working as an assistant professor of medical biochemistry at the Department of Biochemistry, School of Medicine, College of Medicine and Health Sciences, University of Gondar, Ethiopia. He joined the University of Gondar as a Graduating Assistant II in 2016. Since then, he taught both theoretical and practical courses of biochemistry for health students until he left for Addis Ababa University to follow his graduate studies in 2018.
He returned to teach Medical and Health Science students about the theoretical and practical aspects of Medical Biochemistry after completing his Master's degree in Medical Biochemistry.

Mr. Dejenie served as Head of the Department of Biochemistry for more than three years. He also contributed to research and community service activities. He conducted research activities in the medical sciences and public health in the thematic areas of medical biochemistry, molecular biology, and public health. He has over 30 papers published in international journals that are indexed by PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science. He supervises MSc students during their thesis project activities. He has participated in research conferences. Along with the academic activities, he contributed a lot to the growth and development of the departments, the school, the college, and the university at large by participating in different activities. He has participated and played a major role in the revision of the curriculum of MSc and BSc programs in the college, school, and departments; the development of biochemistry laboratory manual guidelines and checklists; and coordinating the teaching and learning process.
