Biography

In 2003, Tatiana Zhiltsova started to develop her academic carrier as a member of TEMA (Centre for Mechanical Technology and Automation) at the Department of Mechanical Engineering (DEM) of the University of Aveiro (UA). Since then, she has done research work dedicated to numerical simulation of the injection molding of polymeric materials and to the transfer of knowledge and technology within the framework of the cooperation projects with injection molding industry and mold making. Her area of expertise also includes strong knowledge in heat transfer and injection molding of thermoplastics from micro to macro scale. She has participated in several scientific research projects related to the area of ​​molds and polymeric materials. In recent years, great emphasis has also been given to the investigation and adaptation of the injection molding process of thermoplastics to micro scale. The most-recent activities focus on the area of ​​computational fluid mechanics in its modeling, simulation and optimization aspects of technological processes.
