Biography
Dacia Randolph, PhD is a May 2022 graduate of the Information Technology in Education doctorate program from the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR). Dr. Randolph’s concentration of study was Instructional Design within Education. Her dissertation entitled Comparing Middle School Student Learning Outcomes Among In-person, Online, and Hybrid Modes of Instruction: A Consideration of Student Engagement in Distance Learning During a Pandemic explored the potential influence of student learning outcomes in multiple modes of instruction before, at the onset of, and during the pandemic.
During her time at UNR, Dr. Randolph served three years as a Graduate Assistant and one year as a Graduate Ambassador for the Graduate Services and Postdoctoral Affairs offices. She also completed a Graduate Fellowship for the National Council for Community and Education Partnerships, based in Washington, DC, as the program’s K-12 curriculum reviewer with its GEARUP (Gaining Early Access and Readiness for Undergraduate Program).
Dr. Randolph has over twenty years of experience in Human Resources including fourteen years of full cycle recruiting and six years of learning and development at Wells Fargo and LabCorp. As an HR Consultant, she oversaw the full-cycle recruiting process to ensure Wells Fargo and LabCorp selected top candidates in financial services, mortgage, phlebotomy, and the reference laboratory environment. As a Learning and Development Consultant in Wells Fargo’s HR Service Center, Dr. Randolph co-designed and facilitated training for the HR Service Center Representatives. The training included managing all aspects of the team members’ support system (e.g., payroll, benefits, online learning and navigation, and the company’s intranet site).
Dr. Randolph's future endeavors include obtaining an academia-adjacent career conducting research, designing instruction, and developing curriculum within various learning environments.
In her spare time, Dr. Randolph enjoys learning about pescatarian food options and various teas that offer health benefits, and traveling around the world experiencing different cultures.
Dr. Randolph currently resides with her husband, Joe, in the Washington, DC area.
