Biography
David Bruhwiler is an entrepreneur and software executive with a distinguished career in computational physics. His scientific work in the areas of parallel computing, charged particle acceleration, laser plasma interaction, electron cooling of ion beams, advanced accelerator concepts, solar physics and nonlinear dynamical systems has produced 40 refereed articles, 10 invited talks at international conferences, one patent application and 80 conference proceedings papers. David has successfully managed $10M in contracts and grants, leading to influential scientific successes: quasi-monoenergetic beams from laser-plasma accelerators, the concept of a self-ionizing plasma wakefield accelerator, the Trojan horse concept for resonant injection into a plasma accelerator (patent pending), and fundamental improvements to the understanding and use of parametric models for dynamical friction.
