Biography
Mohammed graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Industrial Engineering from King Khalid University, Saudi Arabia in 2011; obtained his MSc degree (Hons) in Manufacturing Systems from King Saud University, Saudi Arabia in 2017 and was awarded his PhD degree in Manufacturing Systems from King Saud University, Saudi Arabia in 2020. He joined Loughborough University in 2020 working at the Intelligent Automation Centre as a Research Associate in Manufacturing Education for the fourth Industrial Revolution for the MAESTRO project, co-funded by the ERASMUS+. He is currently working as Research Associate in Smart Automations and Robotics Modelling, supporting the IRaaS project and the Smart Cobotics Centre. He previously worked as a Production Manager for ARCOM Industrial Group, Saudi Arabia from 2011- 2013. After that, he worked as a Researcher at the Industrial Engineering Department, College of Engineering, King Saud University from 2013 – 2019, where he co-authored a project and worked on another two research projects. Mohammed's research interests are in the field of intelligent automation and include manufacturing system modelling and applications of distributed artificial intelligence, knowledge-based systems, mathematical optimization, and MCDM, with a primary focus on modular and adaptable production systems. He also has a special focus on investigating new pedagogical methods and techniques for designing and updating engineering courses to cope with the Industry 4.0 contexts in harmony with the UN 2030 Sustainable Agenda
