Biography
Lidia K. Al-Halaseh was awarded a PhD in Pharmacy and Pharmacology, from the University of Bath-UK (October 2017), a master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences MPharm, University of Jordan (2005), and a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, from Jordan University of Science and Technology (2003).
Currently: Associate Professor of Pharmacy and Pharmacology-Phytotherapy, Faculty of Pharmacy-Mutah University.
Research interest:
Isolation and characterization and investigation of the biosynthetic pathways of compounds with known biological activities from wild-type and transgenic plants by utilizing different spectroscopic and chromatographic techniques, mainly NMR, HPLC, LC-MS, and molecular biotechnological aspects.
Isolation and investigation of non-invasive, hypoallergenic, and biologically active compounds to be employed in topically used cosmetic and cosmeceutical preparations.
Characterization of value-added products and biofuel production from Microalgae
Investigating secondary metabolites biosynthetic pathways through the production and cultivation of transgenic plants with the aid of genetically engineered E. coli through knocking down, overexpression, deleting, and silencing specific genes through the pathway.
Investigating the plants' metabolomics by synthesis of stable isotopically labelled intermediates and feeding them to model normal and engineered plants.
