Lorena Lopez-Donado

Biography

Nutritionist graduated from San Carlos University of Guatemala, with studies at the Master's level in Public Health with an emphasis on Epidemiology and Management at Rafael Landívar University, training in Research Applied to Health Sciences and Nutrition and international courses on physical activity, exercise, nutrition and health endorsed by the Atlanta CDC and the International Network of Physical Activity RAFA-PANA. Studies at the specialization level in Adolescent Medicine at the Catholic University of Chile. Currently a doctoral student in Nutrition at the Universidad Internacional Iberoamericana.

Coordinator of the Degree of Clinical Nutrition at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of Mariano Galvez University in Guatemala City since July 2012.

Professor of Nutrition and research courses at School of Nutrition and School of Medicine at Mariano Galvez University of Guatemala.

Coordinator of Adolescent Health Diploma, Postgraduate School, Faculty of Medicine at San Carlos University during the period 2007-2009.

Collaborator in the preparation and training on the guide for the prevention of overweight and obesity for children and adolescents of the Ministry of Public Health and Social Assistance (Program for the Prevention of Chronic Non-communicable Diseases and Cancer).

Teaching experience in the areas of Epidemiology, Public Nutrition, promotion of healthy lifestyles, research methods and Human Nutrition in lifecycle in private universities in Guatemala at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels since 2003.
Participation in national and international conferences with research papers in the category of posters and presentations.

Promoter of healthy lifestyles with an emphasis on nutrition and physical activity for the population in different areas of Guatemalan society.

Member of the Technical Health Commission of CONCYT and the Food Rights Observatory (ODAN).

Member of the American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition ASPEN.

Member of the Latin American Society of Nutrition-SLAN, Association of Nutritionists of Guatemala and College of Pharmacists and Chemists of Guatemala.

Head representative of the academy sector before the Scaling Up Nutrition Movement-SUN 2021-2023. Alternate representative (2019-2020)

Vice President of the Court of Honor of the College of Pharmacists and Chemists of Guatemala 2021-2023.

Member of the Health Area Committee at CYTED 2022-2023
