Biography

PhD in Pharmacy and Biochemistry from University of Buenos Aires. The topics addressed during my career broadened my perspective and the techniques I mastered. I did my undergraduate thesis on organ and tissue cryopreservation. There, I acquired notions in cell line and primary culture, spectrophotometry and HPLC. Then, I worked in the private sector in the production of biological sterilization indicators. My tasks: cultivation, maintenance and quality control of bacterial cultures and product. Sterilization techniques. During my doctoral thesis in Transplantation Immunology I became familiar with techniques associated with immunology such as flow cytometry, sorting, immunohistochemistry/fluorescence, qPCR. Also with tissue processing for isolation of cells from different tissue layers or their processing for histological studies. Then, my postdoctoral training in the Biochemistry Research Institute of La Plata was based on bacterial urinary tract infection in pregnancy.
Currently, as a Researcher and Teacher in the same Institute, I continue with this study line and anti-virulence therapy development.
