Biography

I am a historian of science and technology specializing in the Middle East, with a focus on the intersections of scientific and technological developments with social, political, and environmental processes. My research is grounded in transnational history and employs theoretical and methodological frameworks that examine global capitalism, nationalism, ethnicity, labor, the environment, and material cultures. Through these lenses, I investigate how scientific knowledge and technological practices both influence and are influenced by their historical contexts.
