Biography
Alexandros Sakkas was born in Ioannina, Greece in 1994. In 2017, he received a B.Sc. degree in Physics from the Physics Department of the University of Ioannina. Then, in 2020, he received an M.Sc. degree in “Modern Electronic Technologies” from the same Department. In his master thesis, he was involved in the development of an experimental setup for detecting and recording signal power in the lower microwave region. He is currently a Ph.D. student with a focus on implementing a remote sensing system for determining the rain rate via the power loss that a microwave signal undergoes due to rainfall. His main research interests are signal attenuation due to rainfall, remote sensing, and data acquisition systems. Furthermore, he is familiar with several programming languages, including C/C++, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, MATLAB, etc., and with various environments such as CST Studio Suite, OrCAD, NI Multisim, LabVIEW, Android Studio, Atmel Studio, etc. Moreover, he has contributed to 6 publications in international peer-reviewed journals.
