Biography

Mashitoh Yaacob is an Associate Professor at the School of Liberal Studies or Citra UKM (Pusat Pengajian Citra Universiti), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM, The National University of Malaysia), 43600 Bangi, Selangor, MALAYSIA. She obtained her Ph.D degree in Environmental Philosophy from University of Waikato (UoW), New Zealand in 2009, and Masters degree in Environmental Management (M.Env.Mngt.) and Bachelor of Arts or B.A (Hons) degree in Social Sciences and Humanities from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in 1996 and 1995, respectively. She has been an academic for the last 24 years (since 1997). Her research interests are in the fields of `Environmental Philosophy` and `Environmental Management` and her areas of expertise are `Environmental Ethics`, `Islamic Environmental Ethics`, `Ethics of Consumption`, ‘Environmentally Ethical Behavior’, `Pre-cycling, Reusing and Recycling`, and `Education for Sustainable Development`. She is a life member of Environmental Management Society, Malaysia.
