Biography
Since Aug 2019, I am an associate professor at the Stem Cell Institute, Amity Medical School, Amity University Haryana. Prior of joining Amity, I was an Assistant professor of Biotechnology at the School of Life & Allied Health Sciences, the Glocal University, Saharanpur since Sept 2017. I completed my postdoctoral fellowship from the Moores Cancer Center, University of California, San Diego (Jan 2012-Jan 2017) in the group of Prof(s). Michael D. Burkart, Michael Y. Choi, and Januario E. Castro. I earned my PhD in a joint PhD program by the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore-Institute of Bioinformatics, Bangalore under the mentorship of Prof. Akhilesh Pandey. During stay at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Baltimore, I learned cutting edge technology e.g. DNA microarrays, mass spectrometry & cancer signaling, and also worked in a collaborative project on lung cancer signaling with Dr(s). Harold E. Varmus/ Udayan Guha (NCI). During Ph.D. work, I studied the molecular mechanism of tumorigenesis in esophageal cancers using DNA microarrays and quantitative proteomics using mass spectrometry. Currently, I am involved in finding the molecular mechanism of RNA splicing using splicing modulators in gastro-intestinal cancers through genomics/proteomics approaches. Additionally, I am involved in targeting the receptor-ligand axis to overcome the protection by the tumor microenvironment, its relevance in GI malignancies using anti-receptor antibodies/small molecules.
