Biography

John H. Lienhard IV is a professor of mechanical engineering and history at The University of Houston. His research on heat transfer and thermodynamics focused on phase change. He is also the creator of the radio program The Engines of Our Ingenuity. Lienhard is a member of the US National Academy of Engineering, and he has received many awards for his research in the thermal sciences, and his public communication about technology and culture.
