Biography
I attended a bachelor’s degree in Natural Science and then completed a master’s degree in Conservation Biology, both at Sapienza University of Rome. I focused my studies on insects’ biodiversity, initially at taxonomical and systematic levels, later moving towards monitoring and conservation purposes.
In 2021 I worked in LIFE ESC360 project “360 volunteers for monitoring forest biodiversity in the Italian Natura 2000 Network” (LIFE 17 ESC/IT/000001), a citizen science initiative aimed at the monitoring of species and habitats protected under the Birds and Habitats Directives. In this context, I tutored a group of volunteers (aged between 18 and 30 years) working in Nature Reserves of Circeo (Central Italy), and ther I manly focused on floodplain forest, wetlands and coastal habitats.
I am now working as technical research assistant at CREA Research Centre for Plant Protection and Certification in Florence. In this context, I work on citizen science initiatives, good practices applied in management of Natura 2000 sites, and in the monitoring and conservation of saproxylic beetles.
