Biography
Dr. Adeem Ahmad Massarwi (DSW; PhD in Social Work)
Research interests: risk and protective factors for violence and anti-social behaviours among children and adolescents; child abuse; parenting programs; parental resilience and mental health among children
Adeem is a lecturer and researcher at Ben Gurion University of the Negev, Department of Social Work.
Her research focus is violence and anti-social behaviours among vulnerable populations, in particular among a population that experience chronic community violence and political violence. Adeem focuses on parental factors as a protective factor that promotes mental health among children and adolescents.
In 2019 she joined the Center of Evidence-Based Intervention at University of Oxford (Department of Social Policy and Intervention) as a post-doctoral research fellow, funded by the Hebrew University Scholarship for Excellent Doctoral female students and the Council for Higher Education Council.
Adeem holds a PhD in social work (DSW) from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and an MSW (with specialization in child and family studies) and BSW in social work from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
