Biography
Abdulbasit A. Almhafdy is an assistant professor at the architecture department; College of architecture and planning, Qassim University; Head of Quality Assurance Unit (a.almhafdy@qu.edu.sa). He received his Ph.D. degree in Building energy efficiency from Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), Malaysia. He received his Master’s degree, dean listed, in Geographical Information Science and landscape modeling from the same university. His research interests include sustainability assessment in buildings, architecture acoustics, urban heat mitigation, passive design, and CFD modeling. He has a body of funded research comprising over SAR 0.5M since 2018 until the present. He is a member of the International Scientific Committee (ISC) editorial board at the Association of Behavioral Researchers on Asians (ABRA), Malaysia. He was a recipient of the Invention, Innovation, and Design Exhibition (IIDX’16) Award, Malaysia, and the Three Minutes Thesis competition (3MT’16) Award, Malaysia.
