Personal information
Biography
After working two years in quality management, I went abroad for training in advanced food manufacturing and in food sciences reading for an MSc and PhD at the University of Nottingham (UoN). After completing this degree and following my interests in adding commercial value to research, I was awarded the Business-Sciences Medici Fellowship, receiving hand-on training in Intellectual Property Right (IPR) and Technology Transfer. My professional experience has been shared between executive roles in technology transfer offices in UK and Chile and academic activities as Research Associate at the University of Santiago (USACH). In 2008 I was appointed as Assistant Professor in food science and technology at USACH, generating nearly 30 internacional publications, more than 35 presentations at international scientific meetings and 3 patent applications (PCT). Currently I work as faculty member at the School of Nutrition and Dietetics, Faculty of Medicine and the School of Service Management at Universidad de los Andes in Santiago.
