Biography
Samrat Gupta is an Associate Professor of Information Systems at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad. He also holds the positions of Senior Researcher at the University of Agder, Norway and Researcher at University of Economics in Bratislava, Slovakia. He received his doctoral fellowship from Indian Institute of Management Lucknow. He has been teaching courses such as Managerial Computing, Internet Enabled Business, Database Management, Data Science and Advances in Network Theoretic Modelling of Complex Systems to undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral students. His research revolves around three key themes: network theoretic modelling, Information disorder and user engagement on online platforms, and human centered digitalization. His work has been published in reputed journals such as Information Systems Research, Decision Support Systems, Data & Knowledge Engineering, Information Sciences, and Journal of Business Research, amongst others. His current research is funded by the European Union's Horizon research and innovation programme where he has been working on the development of business and operational models for a federated data marketplace. Prior to this, his research received funding from Ministry of Education, Government of India for investigating social media engendered polarization. His work on network science has been awarded at several forums such as Complex Engineering Systems Institute, University of Chile, Santiago, ALLDATA conference 2019 (Spain) and Institute for Development and Research in Banking Technology (IDRBT) India, amongst others.
