Biography
Jian Yang is J.P. Morgan Endowed Chair and Research Director at J.P. Morgan Center for Commodities, Professor of Finance, and Discipline Director of Finance at University of Colorado - Denver. He was the founding director of Center for China Financial Research during 2016-2020. He also previously held positions of visiting fellow at People’s Bank of China and visiting scholar at St. Louis Fed. He has served as an associate editor or an editorial board member for ten academic journals including Journal of Futures Markets and JREFE. He has published over 70 refereed journal articles on such journals as Management Science, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Journal of Econometrics, and Journal of Money, Credit and Banking. His research (together with works of some Nobel Prize winners in the same volume) has been reprinted in a four-volume major finance work reference book , won a number of research awards including PBFJ Best Paper Award, and featured by several dozens of media outlets including New York Times, The Washington Post, Reuters, Daily Mail (UK), CNBC, US News and World Report, Economic Daily (Chinese) , People's Daily Online (Chinese) , China National Radio (Chinese), and The CFA Digest. He has delivered invited research presentations at European Central Bank, FDIC, People’s Bank of China, Hong Kong Monetary Authority, China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC), US EIA, industry associations, futures exchanges, think tanks, and commercial banks.
