Ian Houlihan

Biography

I am a PhD student part of the CABER group in the University of Limerick under the supervision of Dr. Eamonn de Barra. My project looks at the change in mechanical properties of a glass ionomer cement with respect to time. These changes in mechanical properties are further analysed using FTIR and Raman spectroscopy to characterise the changes in the setting reaction chemistry. I have also studied mechanical engineering as my undergraduate studies in the University of Limerick and have also undertaken the certificate of medical science in the Royal College of Surgeons, Dublin.
