Biography

Buket Bezgin Carbas was born in Tokat, Turkey, in 1981 and graduated from the Department of Chemistry Education Department of the Marmara University in 2004. She then joined Professor Dr. Ahmet M. Önal’s research group at Middle East technical University (METU), where she gained a Ph.D. (2004) for her work on the fluorene based electrochromic polymers and their applications. As a research scientist, between 2011-2013, she worked at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), Department of Materials Science and Engineering, in the State of California, USA. She worked on rechargeable batteries and polymer membrane gel electrolytes under the consultancy of Professor Dr Qibing Pei. She became as a research assistant at Chemistry Department of METU between 2004- 2014. In 2014 and 2017, she became an assistant and associated professor at the Department of Energy Systems Engineering at Karamanoglu Mehmetbey University. Her main field of study is the synthesis of conjugated conductive polymer derivatives and the application areas of the obtained conductive polymers. She has done many qualified studies on electrochromic and photoelectrochromic devices, solar cells, light-emitting diodes, biosensors, sensor polymers and capacitors. She has brought new potential members to the electrochromic materials family by synthesizing new polymers that can be used in the construction of electrochromic devices, especially in the field of materials science and energy.
