Biography

I am a Senior Lecturer at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) with specializing in advanced metallic materials and processing. My main research interests include Ti, Al, Cu alloys and composites, shape memory alloys, welding metallurgy, and additive manufacturing. I enjoy working on strengthening mechanisms of alloys and metal matrix composites based on experimental research using in situ evaluation of microstructure and mechanical properties, tensile test and advanced characterization techniques: SEM, XRD, EBSD and TEM.
Prior to joining UTM, I worked at Osaka University (OU), Japan as Assistant Professor from mid-2018 to early 2023. I was a committee member of the project “Center to Create Research and Educational Hubs for Innovative Manufacturing in Asia” at the Joining and Welding Research Institute at OU. I am (co-)author of more than 40 journal papers indexed by the Web of Science Core Collection. As a first author, I have published 17 papers in top-tier academic journals in the fields of materials engineering and advanced manufacturing. I also served as invited/keynote speaker at several international conferences as well as guest editor, editorial board member, and reviewer board member for numerous reputable international scientific journals.
