Biography

Dr. Xu Liang, recognized as one of the world’s top innovators under 35 by MIT Technology Review, is the head of the National Open Innovation Platform for the new generation of AI Inclusive Finance of the National Science and Technology Ministry, as well as the chief engineer of the Ping An OneConnect AI Research Institute, focusing on the research, development, and application of artificial intelligence technology to assist in government and enterprise’s decision-making. Since Dr. Xu joined Ping An Group in 2015, taking the responsibility for the innovative research on AI applications and multi-various situation-based government projects, he has provided AI solutions for 10+ professional companies within Ping An Group and made innovative breakthroughs in projects for several large cities (Chongqing, Shenzhen, etc.) with 300+ patent applications and 70+ authorized. As the first author and corresponding author, he has papers accepted by the Lancet, EMNLP as well as other high-level journals and conferences. On top of publications, Dr. Xu also won major awards such as the Wu Wenjun First Prize for Artificial Intelligence Science and Technology Progress, Shenzhen Outstanding Engineer, IDC Asia-Pacific Smart City Award, and so on.
