Biography

I’m fascinated by the morphological and molecular diversity of plant-pathogenic microbes.
With my research on fungi and oomycetes I aim to understand

(1) which molecular factors determine specificity in pathogen-plant interactions,
(2) how these factors evolve
(3) and, how they drive speciation.

After studying two fungal model systems during my earlier career I joined the Kamoun Lab in 2014 to focus on host jump-related adaptation in Phytophthora and Hyaloperonospora.
