Biography

Ezeibe Chidi Nwaru was born in Aba, Abia State, Nigeria. He holds Bachelor’s Degree in Plant Science from Abia State University and a Master’s Degree in Plant Science (Mycology and Plant Pathology) from the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike, Nigeria. He is a member of the Mycology Society of Nigeria and Biotechnology Society of Nigeria respectively and is presently an Assistant lecturer at Abia State University. His research interest is focused on mushroom science and fungal pathology of staple crops in Nigeria. His main objective is to study the biology of fungal pathogens and their interaction with host plants with advanced diagnostic techniques from microscopic down to molecular levels.

This will help in controlling plant diseases with a better understanding of strategies employed by fungi and viruses to successfully invade and colonize plants, and their interaction with the environment. The exploitation of this knowledge with the conceptualization of advanced experiments in plant pathology will help in developing successful breeding and disease management strategies that will maximize yield.
