Biography

Sérgio Moro is Full Professor at Instituto Universitário de Lisboa (ISCTE-IUL), Portugal, and Vice President of the Scientific Council at ISCTE. He holds Habilitation ("Agregação") and PhD in Information Sciences and Technologies and a MSc in Management Information Systems, both from ISCTE, and a 5 year BSc in Computer Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico. His research interests include Business Intelligence, Data Mining, and Decision Support Systems applied to real world problems such as Marketing, Banking, and Tourism. His research appears in journals such as Telematics and Informatics, International Journal of Information Management, Decision Support Systems, Expert Systems with Applications, Annals of Tourism Research, European Journal of Marketing, Journal of Business Research, and Tourism Management. He has worked for 15 years at Montepio Bank (between 2001 and 2016), from which the last 3 years and a half as a Business Intelligence & Analytics project coordinator, including Marketing projects (e.g., Analytical CRM) and Risk Management projects (e.g., IRB - internal ratings-based approach to capital requirements for credit risk; ALM - Asset and Liability Management; GRC - Governance, Risk, and Compliance).
