Biography

Prof. Dr. Mustafa ÖZDEMİR was born in 1983 in Çorlu, Tekirdağ, Türkiye. Upon graduating from Ankara Science High School in 2001, he received his B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees, all in Mechanical Engineering, from Middle East Technical University (METU) in 2005, 2008 and 2013, respectively. Between 2005 and 2015 he worked as Research Assistant and Instructor in the METU Mechanical Engineering Department. He completed his military service in October 2014 as Reserve Officer with the rank of Artillery Second Lieutenant. He joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering at Marmara University as Assistant Professor on 11 June 2015. After being awarded the title of Associate Professor in the field of Mechanical Engineering by the Inter-University Council of Türkiye (ÜAK) on 16 October 2017, he was appointed in the same department as tenured Associate Professor on 08 August 2018 and as Full Professor on 06 March 2024. Prof. Dr. Mustafa ÖZDEMİR is currently the Vice Chairman of the Mechanical Engineering Department and also the Head of the Machine Theory, System Dynamics and Control Division.
