Biography
Trained and experienced in infectious diseases epidemiology at a PhD level together postdoctoral training in clinical R&D+i and trainer of trainers in research good practices such as Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Effective Project Planning and Evaluation. Strong links with the health authorities at local and national level by conducting research in infectious diseases of public health priority in Colombia. Initially, research was conducted in American Cutaneous Leishmaniasis (ACL) and malaria with CDC collaboration and more recently in Dengue and other arboviruses. Active participation in Covid19 response in municipal and state level in Colombia. Training activities have included the coordination of the PhD programme in Health and postgraduate programs in public health at Universidad del Valle, the largest Government University in the area. I am based at the Health Faculty where I teach epidemiology and research to undergraduate students of Medicine, Dentistry and other Health-related programs and postgraduate students. My current
research focuses on R&D+i of diagnostic tests for infectious diseases and public health interventions.
