Biography

Jiawei received his Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry at the University of Florida under the direction of Prof. David Wei where he focused on using spectroscopy to understand the role of the metal-metal oxide interface in heterogeneous catalysis (conventional heterogeneous catalysis and photocatalysis).

He joined the Boettcher lab and the Brozek lab at the University of Oregon as Joint Postdoctoral Scholar in August 2021. His research focused on bipolar membrane electrolyzer, and the electrochemical ion intercalation inside nanoconfined porous materials for energy storage and ion sensing applications in the Oregon Center for Electrochemistry.
