Biography
Mateus has a cotutelle PhD in mechanical engineering (mechanical design, materials, and manufacturing) from the University of São Paulo and industrial engineering (materials engineering) from the University of Padova (UNIPD) under the supervision of Professors Carlos Alberto Fortulan and Paolo Colombo, respectively. His research topic was the manufacturing of porous carbonate rocks and other calcium carbonate structures using powder compaction and 3D printing.
He holds a bachelor's degree (2017) and a master's degree (2020) in Mechanical Engineering from the São Carlos School of Engineering, University of São Paulo (EESC - USP). He graduated with honors, receiving the Instituto de Engenharia award, CREA-SP professional training award, and the honorable mention of the ABCM-EMBRAER 2018 Mechanical Engineering Research Award in the category of best undergraduate work. His Master's research funded by FAPESP was on finite element modeling of ceramic powder pressing and green machining for the Brazilian Navy Research Institute, which was awarded in one of their conference meetings.
He worked as an intern at MTE-Thomson in the area of machine design for the production of ceramic components between 2016 and 2017. He is the Brazilian representative of the Young Ceramist Network (YCN) of the European Ceramic Society. Member of the committee of the Young Ceramists of Brazil (JCB) network of the Brazilian Ceramics Association. He has experience in ceramics and mechanical engineering, with an emphasis on machine design, finite elements, artificial rock manufacturing, additive manufacturing, and ceramic processing.
