Biography

Sohel Rana is currently working as a Research Assistant Professor at the "Institute of Earthquake Engineering Research" of "Chittagong University of Engineering & Technology", Chittagong, Bangladesh. Before that he was working as a Lecturer in the Department of Civil Engineering of "Newcastle University College" which is affiliated with "University of Chittagong".

Mr. Rana's research interests include Performance-Based Design, Risk & Reliability Analysis of Aging Infrastructures, Reliability-based Structural Optimization, Risk and Resilience of Interdependent Networked Infrastructures, Probabilistic Risk Analysis & Risk Reduction, Smart Structures, Agent-Based Modeling for Structural Control, Application of Bayesian statistics, Evolutionary Game Theory, Machine Learning in Earthquake Engineering, etc. His research focuses on the risk, resilience and reliability of structures and infrastructure exposed to multiple hazards, including earthquakes.
