Biography
Álisson Rocha Machado is a professor of Manufacturing Engineering. He is an expert on the machining of materials with a focus on aerospace and automotive components and undertakes numerous research and consultancy projects for Fiat Powertrain Technology, Gerdau, Villares Metals, Tupy S.A., OSG Sulamericana de Ferramentas Ltda, Sandvik do Brasil S.A., Kennametal, Mitsubishi, Iscar, Walter, CBA, EMBRAER, Blazers, SpecialMix, Castrol, among others. All his research activities are geared towards seeking solutions to current industrial problems and have so far attracted substantial Brazilian (federal and state) government and industrial funding. Professor Machado is recognized as an expert on advances in machining processes and is regularly participating in international conferences all over the world. He has authored or co-authored 1 book, 10 book chapters, and over 500 publications in high impact international journals and conferences. He has supervised 34 Master’s degree students and 24 Doctoral students. His expertise and contributions in the field of machining have afforded him many collaborative works with important Institutions in Brazil, Europe, and in the Americas.
