Biography
Born in 1969. Ph.D. in Engineering, Department of Urban Engineering, Graduate School of Engineering, The University of Tokyo.
I Joined Nomura Research Institute(NRI) in 1991 and had been conducting Consultation for 25 years. First decade I specialized in urban and regional Policy research, next decade I conducted business strategy of urban infrastructure business, partnering in overseas development, business strategy of Urban & Infrastructure Business.
As the head of the urban infrastructure sector, I had led the NRI's consulting team for many years. During his career I received the President Award of the best performance from the CEO for three times. His major clients are Japan's leading companies such as Trading Companies, Heavy and Light Electric Companies, Component Manufacturers, Securities Companies, Financial Banks, Real Estate Companies and Housing Manufacturers. Furthermore I helped policy making for the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry(METI) and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport(MLIT).
I provided consulting services and policy proposals for more than 300 projects so far. His experience and knowledge is extremely notable.
Since 2010, I had been conducting research and education activities as a joint researcher and part-time lecturer at The University of Tokyo, Chuo University and Nihon University, alongside consulting work. I had also been a member of the Committee on Industrial Competitiveness (the Cabinet Secretariat of Japan) and a member of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan as policy advisory activities. I had also appeared on numerous media outlets, including NHK, and lectured at international conferences such as the OECD.
I have also written a lot of academic papers and books, and his representative work is "The Infrastructure Management during the Decreasing Population Era", published by the University of Tokyo Press 2013 (ISBN 978-4-13-062834-1), and I won the prestigious book award from three academic societies: The Japan Association of Real Estate Sciences, Academic Division ‘s Book Award, The Japan Section of the Regional Science Association International’ s Academic Book Award and The Japan Association for Property Assessment Policy' s Academic Book Award.
From 2016 to current, I have been the professor at the Graduate School of Environmental Information Studies and the Faculty of Urban Life Studies, Tokyo City University, where I supervise the Real Estate Management Laboratory and Manages it as well. In 2024, I appinted the dean of Faculty of Urban Life Studies.
Since 2020, I has also been teaching "Advanced Urban Business Theory" at the University of Tokyo Graduate School.
In my laboratory, I am actively accepting researchers (postdoctoral fellows), master's students, and doctoral students who have more than two years of working experience. Tuition reduction and exemption (almost full or half price exemption) system is applied so that you can balance with work. Please come to graduate school.
