Biography

A Senior Fellow of AdvanceHE, I offer decades of experience spanning education, clinical practice and research. My wealth of experience affords me a singular perspective, which I apply to postgraduate education and as invited advisor/speaker at multiple national and international fora. After spearheading the first new Scottish programme of pre-registration occupational therapy education in 40 years I was described as a positive force for change in Higher Education. I bring this drive to my current role as Senior Lecturer and Academic Lead for Postgraduate Online Education, in the Graduate School, Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences, University of Glasgow. I apply my multivariate skills, knowledge, and experience to inform my pedagogical approaches of justice and care to curriculum transformation, teaching and learning in the digital space, postgraduate research supervision, educational leadership, scholarship and research. My research interests include lived experiences of pedagogies of choice, trauma-informed digital education, and peer-feedback methods in assessment. I am also a practicing occupational therapist and lead weekend shifts in a busy Emergency Department for which NHS Lothian awarded me the Covid Service Medal in 2022.
