Personal information
Biography
I am a Computer Science lecturer, researcher and author. I completed my Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, with research focus on Computer Vision, in 2021 from the Department of Computer Science, Aberystwyth University, Wales, United Kingdom, where I was an active member of the department's Vision, Graphics & Visualisation Research Group (VGVG).
My Ph.D. research work was jointly supervised by Prof. Yonghuai Liu, Prof. Reyer Zwiggelaar, and Dr. David Hunter. Our main research focus was on the design and implementation of robust methods for 3D shape analysis, retrieval and classification. We adopted the knowledge-based approach and applied computer vision techniques for 2D/3D image processing, feature extraction, shape description, segmentation, and data cleansing. Our research outcomes have majorly contributed to the advancements in computer vision and pattern recognition and have been applied in 3D Protein shape retrieval, which is useful for drug design and discovery. We also have a number of peer-reviewed journal articles and conference papers from our research.
My current research focus majorly considers the data-driven approach, its combination with the knowledge-based approach, the application of data science and other computational techniques to solving real-world computer vision problems. I am also currently exploring the current AI and LLM technologies towards the advancement of knowledge and research in computing and computer vision.
