Biography

Henk Ritzen (1951) obtained a bachelor's degree as a teacher (1978), a master's degree in Pedagogy and Educational Science (1981), Andragology (1991) and a doctorate in Social Sciences (2005). He worked as a lecturer and educational scientist in lbo, mavo and mbo until 1986, as a board member of an mbo school until 1992, and as strategic policy advisor and lecturer until 2018. Until 1 August 2018, he was professor (dutch lector) 'Educational arrangements for students at risk', he carried out research into the causes of early school leaving in mbo, student involvement and engagement, education and technology, transition between pre-vocational and senior secondary vocational education. Since 2000 he is partner of R&I consultancy. Currently he is an independent researcher; chairman supervisory board Consent Enschede (31 schools for primary education); member quality committee Stichting 'Ieder ROC een practoraat'; consultant for managers and teachers in the field of prevocational education.
