Biography
Dr. Mohd Shoaib holds a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, India. He is currently a Research Associate at Nottingham Business School, Nottingham Trent University, working on an EPSRC-funded project focused on the circular economy of small medical devices. In this role, he develops simulation models as decision support tools to optimize the supply and recovery chain for small medical device circularity.
Dr. Shoaib’s research interests encompass modeling and simulation, particularly in the context of healthcare delivery systems, supply chains and sustainability. Additionally he is interested in the integration of reinforcement learning with discrete event simulation models for sequential decision-making. His academic contributions have been recognized through prestigious awards such as the Newton-Bhabha Fellowship and the Tata Consultancy Research Fellowship.
He has published his research in reputed journals and presented at international conferences, contributing significantly to the fields of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research.
