Biography
Patricia Fernández-Sotos is a Physician in the specialty of Psychiatry at the Complejo Hospitalario Universitario de Albacete since May 2019.
Previously, she was a Resident Intern at the Hospital Universitario 12 de Octubre (May 2015 to May 2019).
In January 2021, she defended his thesis work obtaining an OUTSTANDING CUM LAUDE qualification on the subject of "New technologies for the assessment and treatment of social cognition deficits in patients with schizophrenia" under the direction of Dr. Roberto Rodríguez Jiménez ( Doctor in Psychiatry from the Autonomous University of Madrid, Head of the Hospitalization Unit of the Hospital Universitario 12 de Octubre, Professor of Psychiatry at the Complutense University of Madrid and Researcher at CIBERSAM (www.cibersam.es) and at the Hospital 12 Research Institute October) and Professor Antonio Fernández Caballero (Doctor in Physical Sciences, Professor of the University of Languages and Computer Systems of the University of Castilla-La Mancha).
She is a researcher in the Cognition and Psychosis group of the Research Institute i + 12-Hospital Universitario 12 de Octubre, as well as in the clinical group linked to the Center for Biomedical Research in Mental Health Network (CIBERSAM).
She is part of the research team of the project Environment and Genes in Schizophrenia - Research Groups of the Community of Madrid (AGES-CM), funded by the Community of Madrid (R&D Grants in Biomedicine S2010 / BMD-2422 AGES) and Funds Structural of the European Union. He is also part of the multidisciplinary research team in the national projects: "Intelligent environments controlled by physiological, perceptual and behavioral responses to emotional experiences (DPI2016-80894-R)" and "Human-avatar symbiosis in cognitive cyber therapies: Proof of concept for hallucinations hearing (TIN2015-72931-EXP) ”.
She is the author of an article related to the treatment of auditory hallucinations in schizophrenia through virtual reality, published in the Frontiers in Neuroinformatics magazine, indexed in the ISI / JCR in Q1 (year 2017).
She is the author of an article related to the access and use of the internet and technological devices in patients with early stage schizophrenia, indexed in the ISI / JCR in Q1 / D1 (year 2018).
She is the author of an article related to the acceptance and use of a tool for evaluating deficits in social cognition, by therapists, indexed in the ISI / JCR in Q1 (year 2019).
In 2020, she has published an article indexed in the ISI / JCR in Q1 (year 2020) on the design and validation of a tool for facial recognition of emotions, based on virtual humans, in a healthy population.
She, in turn, is the author of a work in the magazine Schizophrenia Bulletin (indexed in the ISI / JCR in Q1 / D1), called: “Theory of mind in individuals with first-episode of schizophrenia and childhood trauma”.
